Vocal Coach Reacts To Tom Jones - Delilah - Live - Ken Tamplin

I remember singing Tom Jones tunes as a boy and he ended up being a big influence as I discovered my passion for music.

Tom was a crooner and his powerful voice has been described as a "full-throated, robust baritone” who primarily sang pop but also show tunes, country, soul and R&B.

When he was 12 years old he spent two years in bed recovering from tuberculosis – during which he discovered his love of music.

Tom was discovered and then signed by Gordon Mills when he was the lead singer of a local band called Tommy Scott and the Senators.

Jones went on to become one of the leading lights of the “British Invasion” and sold over 100 million records, with thirty-six Top 40 hits in the United Kingdom and nineteen in the United States.

Tom also had a close connection to Las Vegas where he played at least once a week from 1967 until 2011. Vegas was also where he struck up a friendship with Elvis Presley.

He has experienced numerous career comebacks through the years and has successfully acted and more recently served as a judge for the UK version of the Voice.

For today’s reaction I’ll be watching a performance of Tom’s classic “Delilah”. Check it out and let me know what you thought!
