Vocal Coach Reacts to Stevie Wonder | Tribute To Bill Withers | Ain't No Sunshine | Ken Tamplin

It doesn’t get much better than Stevie Wonder paying tribute to your song.

Today’s performance is the great Stevie Wonder performing the great Bill Withers’ song “Ain’t No Sunshine” with Bill sitting next to him.

At the time Withers wrote the song, he was thirty-one years old and was working at a factory making toilet seats for 747s.

He recorded the song back in 1971 first as a single and then later as part of his album Just As I Am.

The tune was a huge success and went to number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and number six on the US R&B Chart.

The song’s inspiration came from the movie Days of Wine and Roses and was based on the two main characters who were alcoholics. It tells the story of going back to something that’s not necessarily good for you.

Withers had originally wanted to write a third verse for the song but instead followed the advice of other musicians to instead sing “I know” 26 times.

It’s great to watch the relationship between Stevie and Bill as Stevie performs his own version of the tune.

I hope you enjoy it and please let me know what you thought!
