At the beginning of the year, I announced my “Yearbook Album” project - creating and releasing a new song on the 20th of every month, inspired by the month itself, to be compiled into a full album in December. The year so far has of course been unlike anything we could have predicted - and I can’t believe we’re already seven songs into this project, with this seventh track, “Under the Fireworks”.
Wanted to try something different with this track, and capture just a bit of the disillusionment and sadness many of us have been feeling this month - in contrast to the carefree, celebratory spirit we often associate with July. I hope you enjoy this track, and remember, keep an eye out for new singles on the 20th of every month this year - (plus, new covers and mashups coming soon!)
