It was 1979, Jimmy Carter was President, Margaret Thatcher became the first woman to be elected Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (Margaret Thatcher Quote: "Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't."), the top grossing movies were Alien (scared the bejeezus out of me!), Apocalypse Now and The Warriors – "Y.M.C.A." by the Village People went to #1 on the charts, as did "Hot Stuff" by Donna Summer. And the singer Pink… was born. Pink is on tour by the way, get your tickets now, she rocks!

Wait a minute!!! You've never seen the original Y.M.C.A. music video by Village People!? You haven't lived until you've seen it:

We can continue… also in 1979, on August 27th to be exact, Pat Benatar's debut album "In the Heat of the Night" was released on Chrysalis records, and even though it only peaked at #23, the single "Heartbreaker" (released on October 26th, 1979) proved to be her breakthrough single!

(Oddly enough, Heartbreaker was originally recorded by english rock singer Jenny Darren – who is now 68 and just competed on Britain's Got Talent!)

Pat Benatar's version of Heartbreaker is definitely a classic, you've undoubtedly heard it in various places, and it's obviously an integral part of her live set on her current tour.
