Another standard in warm-up and technique building repertoire, this exercise is guided toward overcoming passaggi in both ascending and descending patterns. As one approaches the upper Do, it is necessary to remain calm and grounded without adding any unnecessary tension anywhere in the body. If this approach is done correctly, the upper Do will ring clearly with ease, and will allow for ease of passage back down to So. NOTE: This exercise covers an octave C-C, so the higher keys may not be accessible to all singers. Don't overdo it.
