What Makes This Singer Great? Joan Jett

Known as the Queen of Rock and Roll, Joan Jett utilized anthemic vocals at a time when few other artists were.

Having helped to found the Runaways, Jett joined the band at 15 just two years after having first taken up the guitar.

The Runaways enjoyed a lot of success, especially abroad and eventually Joan decided to branch off on her own.

Shortly after, she formed Joan Jett and the Blackhearts whom she continues to perform with to this day.

Joan has gone on to have 3 albums certified gold or platinum and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.

I'll be taking a look at a live performance of her classic "I Love Rock N' Roll", as I share what I thought made her great. I'd love to hear your thoughts too so let me know what you think stood out about Joan Jett!
