What Makes This Singer Great? David Coverdale

As many of you know David Coverdale is one of my favorite singers of all time and today I'm going to break down what I think makes him great.

Before leading Whitesnake, David spent a couple of years as the frontman to Deep Purple before the band disbanded for the first time.

He took the next couple of years to launch a solo career producing 2 albums but before the release of his second album, Coverdale had already formed his new band Whitesnake.

Whitesnake ended up being huge in Asia, the UK, and the rest of Europe but were less popular in the States. Americans were finally won over in 1987 however, with the release of their self-titled album.

The record went on to sell 8 times platinum and produced some of their biggest hit singles including "Here I Go Again" and "Is This Love".

Today I'll dive into a couple of David's live performances and I'll break down what I love about his singing. I want to know what you all thought made him great too, so please share in the comments section!
