Vocal Coach Reacts To The Who - Baba O'Riley - Ken Tamplin
I grew up listening to The Who and took some hard knocks learning how to emulate their guitar moves.
The Who formed in London in 1964. They are considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century, selling over 100 million records worldwide.
They have also made some pretty significant contributions to rock music including the development of the Marshall stack, large PA systems, the use of the synthesizer, Townshend's feedback and power chord guitar technique, and the development of the rock opera.
Before settling on The Who, they went by The High Numbers and opened for the Beatles.
The band certainly had a reputation for breaking things in various forms. Pete Townshend has been known to smash his guitar on stage and Keith Moon smashed his drum set at one point too. The band also developed a habit of destroying hotel rooms and shelled out a lot of money over the years paying for damages.
I'm reacting to one of the songs I loved as a kid "Baba O'Riley". This classic is ranked in Time magazine's list of the All-Time 100 Songs, Rolling Stone's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time", and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll.
Let me know if you enjoyed this performance and share your feedback.
