Vocal Coach Reacts To Roy Orbison | Crying | Live | Ken Tamplin

Roy Orbison was one of the original crooners and a master at going in between head voice and chest voice.

Roy got his start singing in a country and western band in high school and was signed to his first record label at 20 years old.

He went on to produce 22 singles that reached the Billboard Top 40 many of which he either wrote or co-wrote.

Roy was known for his signature black sunglasses which he wore with black clothes along with his dyed black hair as he sang emotional and sometimes dark ballads.

While many male singers during Roy’s time were making music that reflected a more “macho” persona, Roy made music that was more vulnerable.

Roy went through a slow period in his career before experiencing a comeback in the 80s when he remade cover versions of some of his songs. He later co-founded the group the Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne.

Roy was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 1987 and has been named as one of the greatest artists of all time by Rolling Stone.

For today’s reaction I’ll be looking at a performance of his song “Crying”. I hope you enjoy the video and let me know what you thought!
