Lita Ford - Kiss Me Deadly - cover - Sara Loera - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy

While Lita Ford got her first break as the lead guitarist for The Runaways, she went on to also have a very successful solo career as a heavy metal guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and she even acted.

Lita joined The Runaways at age 16 along with Cherie Currie and Joan Jett. One year later, the band scored a record deal and released their debut album which also featured Future Bangle Micki Steele who had joined the band.

Following the breakup of the Runaways, Ford moved on and launched a solo career hiring Sharon Osbourne as her manager.

She was nominated for a Grammy for Best Female Rock Performance in 1984.

Lita had a history of dating rock stars including Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe and she ended up marrying former Nitro singer, Jim Gillette.

Today Sara will be performing Lita’s tune: “Kiss Me Deadly” It is considered Ford's signature song, and was the highest charting of her solo singles.
