Once in a while, there comes around a band or a song (or both), so impressionable, so influential, so wow that they engrave their art on you in such a way it is inescapable!
Deep Purple is one of those bands and Highway Star is one of those songs!
I remember in my early years on guitar, learning Highway Star note for note. (kind of a prerequisite to great classic rock guitar playing :-)
As I started to take my voice more seriously, singers like Ian Gillan were a heavy influence on my singing journey.
In fact, all the singers that sang for Deep Purple (and Rainbow) were life changing for me.
So I thought it would be fun to take on such an epic piece to share with you guys.
