This is Aydin Esen 29 years ago at the WCB on Dec. 3, 1987 in Ithaca New York. This is before the internet, cell phones, Youtube, iPhones etc. We all knew we were seeing history which is why we recorded it. Aydin is a Turkish born pianist and composer but his style defies all else. He is the greatest improviser I have ever heard or seen in my entire time on the planet. The fact that he isn't the most famous musician in the world is astounding to me but at least I can do my part by telling all the people I know about him. This is just a small slice of what this man can do. His story will be told but it may take another generation. For those of you that know my son Dylan, Aydin is his favorite musician and there is nobody else in his class. I hope you pass this along. There are many more videos.
