What Makes This Singer Great? Rod Stewart
Rod Stewart’s legendary status has centered around his ability to constantly reinvent himself and he continues to do so even at this stage in his career.
Known for his raspy voice, and gritty vocal tone, Rod has natural nodes on his voice that have helped give him that sound that is so distinct.
A very melodic singer, he is also a great songwriter, utilizing great pocket phrasing all of which have helped garner his image as a sex symbol.
He has been ranked by Billboard as one of their Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists as well as Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Singers of all time.
In 1994 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2018 Rod released his 30th studio album.
Today I’ll be looking at a live performance of Rod’s classic “Sexy Legs” as I discuss what stood out to me about him. I’d love to get your input too so please let me know what you thought made Rod great!
