What Makes This Singer Great? Klaus Meine

Few could tackle a ballad with the sensitivity it called for like Klause Meine from Scorpions. Yet he could also turn right around and belt out a hard rock song with ease.

Known for his polished delivery and unique tenor voice, Klause joined Scorpions in 1969, four years after they'd been founded.

An accomplished songwriter, he also wrote most of the band's songs and even composed songs like "Winds of Change".

Klause and Scorpions guitarist Rudolf Schenker are the only two band members to appear on every album the band produced.

In 1981, Meine lost his voice on tour to the extent he couldn't speak properly. He was advised to stop singing professionally but after 2 vocal surgeries and a lot of therapy he recovered and continues to make music.

Klaus has been placed at No. 22 on Hit Parader's Top Heavy Metal Vocalists of All Time and today we'll look at a couple of live performances showcasing why.

I hope you enjoy the video and please be sure to share what you think makes Klaus great!
