Warhammer 40,000 is a franchise by Games Workshop, and the most popular miniature wargame in the world. The new video game, Space Marine 2 kicks off after the return of Roboute Guilliman, one of the superhuman "Primarch" sons of the Emperor and leader of the Ultramarines, and in the middle of the Imperium's Indomitus Crusade to reclaim lost worlds from its alien enemies, including the Tyranids. In Warhammer 40k's grimdark setting, humanity is locked in constant, impossible wars with many other enemies including Orks, Necrons, and the evil Chaos Gods (including Khorne, Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Nurgle). The Salamanders are one of the Loyalist First Founding Chapters of the Space Marines. They originally served as the Imperium's XVIIIth Space Marine Legion during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy. For some time before their unification with their primarch Vulkan, they were known as the "Dragon Warriors." Their homeworld is the volcanic Death World of Nocturne.
