Vocal Coach Reacts To Iron Maiden | The Trooper | Bruce Dickinson | Ken Tamplin

Bruce Dickinson has a tradition of waving the Union Flag during Iron Maiden performances and more recently he even started wearing a red coat uniform.

The outfit is in reference to the subject of the song “The Trooper” which I’ll be reacting to today.

The song was written by bassist Steve Harris and the title comes from a poem by Lord Tennyson which describes the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava 1854, during the Crimean War.

Released as the second single off of their fourth studio album Peace of Mind, the song was of a few tunes by Iron Maiden that gained regular airplay in the US and peaked at No. 28 on the US Mainstream Rock charts.

The track was included on Guitar Hero 2 and was used as the opening theme for the documentary series Metal Evolution. The band even created a beer called Trooper named after the song.

Today I’ll be reacting to a more recent performance of the tune. Check it out and let me know what you thought!
