Vocal Coach Reaction to Christina Aguilera - Hurt - Ken Tamplin

Like so many successful artists we know of, Christina Aguilera experienced defeat REPEATEDLY before making it BIG as a singer.

In 1990, she appeared on the show Star Search and was eliminated during the semi-final rounds.

A year later Aguilera auditioned for a position on The Mickey Mouse Club, and was denied a spot due to her age.

BUT she didn't give up!

And her first break came 2 years later when she was offered a role as a mouseketeer on the same show, joining co-stars Ryan Gosling, Keri Russell, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake.

Her time with Disney catapulted her career and she went on to win 6 Grammys.

Certainly mentioning Christina doesn't come without some controversy.

While her voice has been compared to that of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, she has also been criticized for her excessive use of melisma and oversinging on songs and in concerts.

I'll be reacting to a song of hers that I love: Hurt and I expect you guys will have your own feelings about her performance to share.
