What is Belting?

Let's start there.

(first off, I want to thank some of my colleagues for referring to me as the "King" of belt...I am honored. So I trust this means I have some authority on the subject and can share it with you.)

The origin of the term Belting claims its first mention in what was known as the "Broadway Belt."

Singers on Broadway would raise their voices into what is also known as the "Call" register. (calling out to someone).

But this is an oversimplification of what this term is known for today.

Let me explain:

Just because you can "shout" out to a friend or on a Broadway stage, doesn't mean you can maintain this for any length of time without first understanding how to control this safely.

In this Live Stream, we are going to discuss different "levels" of belting and how we not only can do this safely, not burn our voices out, but actually have this work to our advantage.
