Secrets of The Melodic Minor Pentatonic Scales!
In this episode I discuss how to construct, play and use the pentatonic scales from the Melodic Minor. They can be used in much different ways than the Major and Minor Pentatonics. The 2 scales discussed are:
The Major b6 Pentatonic - 1 2 3 5 b6
The Minor b5 Pentatonic - 1 b3 4 b5 b7
They can be used on any chords found in the Melodic Minor Scale such as:
Minor major 7ths
Minor 7th Sus4 b9
Major 7#5
Dominant 7th #11 or b5 (Lydian Dominant or Mixolydian #11)
Dominant b6
Minor 9b5 (Minor 7th b5)
Altered Dominant (Dominant 7 b5 #5 b9 #9)
* At 9:00 in the video I have an F melodic minor scale with a B natural instead of a Bb. I just left the flat out by accident but the C major b6 Pentatonic is from the F Melodic Minor Scale.
