OK, OK, OK. We obviously have a propensity for our KTVA girls to take on male vocally dominated songs and today we chose Ronnie James Dio singing Long Live Rock And Roll.

I've heard: "Oh sure! It's easier for girls to sing guys' songs because their range is higher."

First off, we usually adjust the range up a full step or a step and a half to accommodate the range of the vocalist, to make it higher, more demanding and more difficult.

But second, girls' vocal cords are considerably smaller in length and girth than guys' vocal cords, making it much more difficult for a big phat round sound, not to mention how much more difficult it is for girls to develop that kind of distortion.

With that said, we felt this was a perfect fit for Gabbi to show off her voice and the KTVA method.
