Lenny Kravitz - Are You Gonna Go My Way - cover - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy
Son of famed TV show personality Roxie Albertha Roker who portrayed Helen Willis on the CBS sitcom The Jeffersons, Kravitz cut out his own musical career.
There were few African Americans playing rock at this time.
Yes, of course, there was Jimi Hendrix, In Living Color, etc.., but an obstacle for Lenny to overcome I am sure.
I wanted to reach back and grab one of his firsts hits "Are You Gonna Go My Way" (which many think much of the song is a reference to Jesus Christ).
I decided to sing it like Ken Tamplin, but not lose the integrity of his original artistry.
Let me know how you think I did :-)
