Gracie Abrams and Vevo first crossed paths when we captured a couple cozy DSCVR performances from her backyard during the pandemic. Matter of fact, that was some of her first performance content ever. We were high on the smoky-voiced singer-songwriter from the jump, before her first live shows, before she gave her ‘This Is What It Feels Like’ EP to the world, before her Insta followers jumped from a perfectly impressive 300k to an undeniable 1.8 million. All those things are intertwined, by the way. Her legion of fans now hang on every note at packed shows. And oh yeah, talent knows talent; Gracie's been warming up stadium stages for Taylor Swift of late, an incomparable spotlight moment for the indie guitar tenderness heard on Abrams' debut album, ‘Good Riddance,’ which arrived in Feb and just got a deluxe update. Be warned before you dive into “Where do we go now?” and “Fault line.” Those lush waves of indecision and anxiety that she controls with quiet gravity can drag you into an emotional rip current before you know it.
