Elton performing “Philadelphia Freedom” in its namesake city in February 2002 at the First Union Arena. The track became one of six US #1 singles Elton achieved between 1972 – 1976 and honours his friend Billie Jean King and her tennis team, the Philadelphia Freedoms. King altered gender perception in sports with her historic victory against Bobby Riggs in the “Battle of the Sexes” tennis match.
