A live recording of the Bayerische Staatsoper's 2019 production of Korngold's "Die Tote Stadt" will be released on DVD/Blu-ray on July 16th, 2021. Jonas Kaufmann's role debut as Paul in this Simon Stone production was hailed as a "movie-star performance" that was "pained and passionate," by "The New York Times." Marlis Petersen stars as Marietta, and Kirill Petrenko leads the Bayerische Staatsoper Orchestra from the pit.
