Behind the scenes on set for the “I Can Tell a Lie” music video🌲🫀🌲

In this music video, I wanted to show “Huldra” (myself…) in her natural habitat – the forest. The video is a continuation of the “When I Let You Go” promo video, where Huldra eventually leaves behind a chapter of her life, where she can no longer stay...

In the forest, Huldra’s hair is stuck on a log, representing a past she struggles to let go of. Although she is surrounded by a forest full of life and untouched trees, she can’t seem to move on from what once was so beautiful.

Huldra is tired. Shameful. Sad.

Eventually, she takes a deep breath and decides to pull herself together. As she gets up, her hollow back is exposed. Her blood and bones are replaced with thick forest, expressing her wilderness and deep connection to nature. Huldra is nature.

Lars von Trier’s “Antichrist” and “Melancholia” inspired many shots in the video, as we found the dark, mystical, and uncomfortable mood to be exactly what this video needed to express the themes in the song.

I truly had the best time making this music video with my wonderful team, and I hope you love it as much as we do!

I hope you enjoy the behind the scenes footage from the set, it’s just snippets from a 14-hour day in the Norwegian woods.
