Arlo Parks - Too Good. An exclusive live performance for Vevo.

One of our proudest choices for Vevo’s DSCVR Artists To Watch 2020 class is London’s Arlo Parks. Back then, her ‘Super Sad Generation’ EP had just arrived, and we wrote about how the project’s lyrics hinted at “an old-soul wittiness beyond the singer’s years.” It was also pointed out that Parks considers herself a “poet above all else.” This year, her debut album, ‘Collapsed In Sunbeams,’ furthered those beliefs, rightfully earning loud critical and fan applause upon its release. The Brit Awards nominated ‘Sunbeams’ for Best British Album of the Year; and Parks herself took home the prestigious Best New Artist award. With its spoken word intro and thoroughly specific observations on romance and self-identity, the album delivers a fully-formed version of Parks’ early promise. “Too Good” and “Hope” are early back-to-back tracks on ‘Sunbeams.’ A soft disco bounce supplies “Too Good” with a spry energy that fans will yearn to see come to life in live performances. On the other hand, the intimate message of encouragement provided in “Hope” feels even more important when you actually see it coming from Parks’ mouth. The two performances provide a panorama view of the impressive 20-year-old’s entire palette. If you love what you see, try to snag a seat for one of her upcoming gigs -- it’s a hot ticket. Like we said almost two years ago, Arlo Parks is definitely an artist to watch.
