Says Laurie: When I saw a video of penguins being taken for a “walk” around the zoo in Basel, Switzerland, I immediately knew what to call it. The idea behind this movement songs for kids is to explore the tension between being a child trying to sit still (as they are asked to do) and the undeniable impulse to get up and move. Now I’m just waiting for the Penguin Walk to become a viral dance! (Waddle waddle, heel heel, waddle waddle, hop!)
