The Story:
It was the summer of my 13th birthday. I had just been dropped off at French Woods Performing Arts Camp for my first 3 weeks of sleep away camp ever. Just hitting puberty, incredibly insecure, and all around scared shitless of what the summer would hold, I stepped into my assigned boys bunk. That's where I met Bryndon Cook, aka Starchild & The New Romantic. We became good friends quickly. We endured another kid in our bunk yelling "GUYS WAKE UP LOOK!" then proceeding to shine a flash light on his bare ass followed by "HAHA GOT YOU GUYS" night after night, and had a great summer overall. We lost touch for many years. Didn't hang again until one of my best friends from high school, Bean, ended up being in the same class in college as Bryndon. He got me hip to all of the rad things Bryndon had been doing like playing guitar for and touring with Solange, releasing his own music, and just being a general bad ass which I was not surprised about in the least. We kicked it in New York a couple weeks back which was the first time we had seen each other in an insanely long time. Had to share some of his rad music with you all for this week of MAXTRAX.
