The recipe was originally written about a man growing older and feeling the world moving on without him. Now more than ever the rules seem to have changed on us all, maybe it’s just growing pains.
Its based on an older street performer I saw in Charleston who was playing beautiful violin music and dissonantly growling the words to Twisted Sister's "Were Not Gonna Take It" over the music.
Since I used part of that chorus we had to reach out to the group resulting in a co writing credit for Dee Snider.
For this video I reached out to my brothers on both coasts, Patrick O'Conner in LA and Jon Shaw in NYC and asked them to send me some footage making this our first full collab since lockdown...with Dee Snider.
