Like so many of you, I'm heartbroken and angry. There are no words to express how tired we are of being terrorized by racism and white supremacy. There's a pandemic and we have to protest basic human rights in 2020. This is a very difficult yet important moment. I don't have the words right now, but I know that we have a long way to go.
We all have a part to play in this war against our minds and spirits. Music has always been part of what's fortified us during our greatest challenges. While we protest from the streets or our homes, with our ballots and our dollars, I'm going to do what I can to help lift spirits the best way I know how and encourage my fellow musicians to do the same.
For the families of Breonna Taylor (who would’ve turned 27 today), George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Sean Reed, and all my brothers and sisters whose lives have been taken too soon, I stand with you.
No justice, no peace.
Black Radio Broadcast is a colorful and cool way to blend different avenues from my musical walk in life -- songs I've been featured on, collaborations with other artists, live songs, extra bonus material -- with Jahi Sundance putting it all together. This week's episode is a collection of songs from special projects that I produced. It's something else to listen to while you're tucked away and hopefully being safe. Hope y'all enjoy!
