O Holy Night - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy

Two of my all-time favorite Christmas songs are "Silent Night" and "O Holy Night."

A few years back, I made a Christmas album called "The Colors Of Christmas", where I recorded music with many different influences from around the world.

When I did "Oh Come All Ye Faithful", I was inspired to make it sound like "The Lion King".

When I recorded "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", I thought it would be really cool to add sitars for a Middle Eastern flair.

I also thought it would be fun to record two different versions of "Green Sleeves", more commonly known as "What Child Is This?". One version had Gospel choir influences while the other had flamenco guitar influences. The melodic minor sound of this song felt like it lent itself to that.

In addition, I did a complete a cappella version of "Little Drummer Boy" (similar to The Pentatonix), while also taking on a very heavy belted blues version of "Amazing Grace."

In this particular song, "O Holy Night", I chose to have operatic leanings in my vocal approach, with a little bit of Neil Diamond thrown in. Strange combination, I know, but it seemed appropriate.

I hope you enjoy listening to this piece as much as I enjoyed making it for you.

Merry Christmas to all!
