Expect the unexpected from Lewis Capaldi, right? Last week he set up shop at Heathrow airport with a mic and guitar, and sang "Wish You The Best" to a surprised-if-not-shocked crowd on their way to LA. The UK pop singer was on that flight, too. He has business to do these days; his long-awaited 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent' album arrives on May 19, and beating the drums about it is a global effort. That Heathrow stunt is a mix of cute and poignant. But cute and poignant is Capaldi's regular MO. He's a humorous dude who also impresses audiences by singing straight from the heart. "Wish You The Best" has the capability to be a tear-jerker, a catchy plaint about missing someone after goodbyes are said. Check the version of the song he dropped when he hit our studio during the ramp-up for his second album. It's a gem. And you don't have stand in a TSA line to enjoy it.
