Leslie West - Mountain - Mississippi Queen - Tribute - Kayla Reeves - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy
Have you ever had the opportunity to meet a musician you really admired and respected? Could you imagine getting the opportunity to join them on stage?
If you've ever personally had either opportunity, please share with us in the comments.
Our own KTVA student Kayla Reeves was fortunate to have such an opportunity which she shares here:
It was amazing being on stage with Leslie West. One of my all-time fave guitar players and blues music idols. We performed Freddie King's "Goin' Down" and of course none other than "Mississippi Queen"!
Can you imagine?
There I was, 18 years old and on my first North American spring tour with Trans Siberian Orchestra when I got the chance to perform at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum with Leslie West throwin' down on "Mississippi Queen"!
Lesley was a total sweetheart and a true gentleman on and off stage and while I have had the true privilege and honor of performing with other great artists such as Joan Jett, Robin Zander etc., performing with Leslie was a Dream Come True for me!
So here's my tribute to this a-mazing blues legend.
I give you, "Mississippi Queen"!
