Jared Samuel Erskine, better known as October London, was born in South Bend, Ind., in 1986, but his soul is much older. The multi-talented crooner has a suave, sophisticated voice and powerful messages about love and struggle that earn regular comparisons to soul legends like Marvin Gaye, Donnie Hathaway, and Sam Cooke. Discerning talent evaluators Snoop Dogg and Jazze Pha loved his classic, heartfelt sound so much that they signed him to their Cadillacc Music label.

Following the release of “Black Man in America,” his poignant breakout single about the everyday struggle, which London performed at this year’s Democratic National Convention, he dropped his debut album, Color Blind: Love, on Oct. 28. Fresh off of the release, he joins Snoop on the latest episode of GGN to talk about heartbreak, his old-school influences, ditching Auto-Tune, getting the DNC woke, and more. Plus, he sings so sweetly you might swoon.
