Dave Grohl is a great example of an instrumentalist who decided to put himself out there and teach himself how to sing. In doing so he was able to reinvent his career.

Dave also became a great songwriter and as we look at his isolated vocals from “The Pretender”, we’ll see how his background as a drummer influences the orchestration of his music.
I’ll also explain how we can get to that same sound by compressing the air and adding some distortion. Then I’m going to take on the tune live and I’ll show you how we can build the track from scratch.
