Details On This Project:

This project was an absolute privelage to have been apart of. Joey @newdeparturefilms initially brought up the idea of shooting a cover during the upcoming solar eclipse while we were working on ideas for a video. He is a cinematography wizard and is responsible for every beautiful frame in this video.

Like the vast majority of the videos I put on this channel, I wanted the lead vocal and guitar to be done live during filming. The extra vocals and instrumentation I tracked later that evening after the eclipse had concluded.

Joey and I both have a deep love for music, so deciding on the song to perform for this eclipse project was very difficult. We had a couple different tunes in the running, but we eventually decided to cover this classic Pink Floyd tune, Comfortably Numb.

I want to thank the team that helped Joey and I film this. They volunteered thier time soley to help make something ridiculously awesome, something that would NOT have been possible if I had attempted it alone. From operating cameras, coordinating and directing the shoot, to helping move and set up gear. Thank you Joey Cassel, Will Rosekelly, Susan Prentice, Steve Prentice, and Maxwell Frey.

The lead vocal and lead guitar as seen in the video was performed and recorded live to a Zoom L12 mixing board, monitored through an output from the L12 to a Bose PA system positioned nearby on the rooftop. This allowed the entire crew and myself to monitor the audio while filming.

Chase Eagleson is best known for his work on his YouTube channel covering popular songs in an acoustic style and performing original music. Many of these videos also feature his sister and fellow musician, Sierra Eagleson. Chase took formal guitar and drum lessons in his early teens for a couple years, but eventually continued self-teaching new instruments, singing and music production.
