Little Songs, the new album from Colter Wall, is available everywhere.
Colter Wall releases the title track, “Little Songs,”another original from his new album. In this focus track from the record, Colter Wall visits the everyday of his bucolic, ranching life. “You got to fill the big empty with little songs,” he sings while illustrating the landscape and people of his homeland.
In a new turn from his previous releases, Colter’s latest record was largely written from his home in southern Saskatchewan, where he lives and works raising cattle. Colter said about the new album, “These songs were written over the last three years. I penned most of them from home and I think the songs reflect that.”
On the new record, Colter and his longtime road band, affectionately known to fans as The Scary Prairie Boys, tracked the songs in Wimberley, TX. Patrick Lyons joined Colter as a co-producer on this record and played many instruments. Also on the record are Jake Groves (harmonica), Russell Patterson (drums), Doug Moreland (fiddle) and Jason Simpson (bass).
After releasing previous recordings with Colter, La Honda Records partnered with RCA Records for the album Little Songs.

Lyrics:
There’s an old man in the foothills
And if he ain’t dead, he’s living there still
Loved them little cuttin’ horses
All his life
That’s a high dollar habit
He don’t mind, he’s financed it
Building songs
and losing wives
You won’t get much on mountain time
Except older and a thicker hide
You got to fill the big empty
With little songs
There’s a lady on the highline
She’s fighting drought and her own mind
Day by day, she’s been losing
To the wind
Cause between the price of feed
And the moisture she don’t see
A gal considers selling out
Or pitting in
You might not see a soul for days
On them high and lonesome plains
You got to fill the big empty
With little songs
You got to fill the big empty
With little songs
You got to fill the big empty
With little songs
