For my next Bon Jovi cover, I chose "It's My Life".

One of their newer tunes, the song came off their seventh studio album and was the lead single.

It reached number one in multiple countries in Europe and made it to number 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US.

The song was written by Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, and Max Martin.

Even though the band has moved away from their glam-oriented sound, they’re still one of the only bands classified as 80s glam metal that reached the top 40 in the 2000s.

This song really helped introduce the band to a younger demographic. It is their best known single since the 80s and was performed at almost every live show after it was released.

Some of Bon Jovi’s classic features are used in the song including Sambora’s use of the talk box along with a reference to Tommy and Gina the fictional couple they’ve written about in their songs since the 80s.

Jon Bon Jovi was quoted as saying he knew instantly the song was a hit.

The music video for the song has gone on to be the most viewed video for Bon Jovi on YouTube, with over 768 million views.

I hope you enjoy my take on the song and let me know what you thought!
